A bigger, more serious wine, the 2015 Hermitage Cuvee Emilie Blanc (97% Marsanne and 3% Roussanne, aged in 70% new barrels) comes all from the Maison Blanche lieu-dit. It’s backward and closed, with crisp white peach, caramelized stone fruits and background oak giving way to a rich, concentrated, beautifully textured profile on the palate. It needs 2-3 years of cellaring and will keep for two decades.
