Varnier-Fanniere's Grand Cru Brut Zero Rosé champagne is made from blending the base wine of their Cuvée St Denis (65 year-old vines and only the best part of must, called cuvée) with 90% Chardonnay and 10% of Grand Cru Pinot Noir from the village of Ambonnay. On the nose, strawberry and raspberry fruits dominate, and in the mouth the wine is full of power and purity, with some tart cherry flavours. Pepper and minerality are present on the finish - this is really excellent, and quite rare as brut zero rosés are very rare in Champagne.
