The vineyard of La Grande Cote is one of the most special in all Sancerre and is 100% owned by the Cotat family. It is one of the most old-school Sancerres in existence, and is often compared more to Grand Cru Chablis than modern Sancerre wines. This is loaded with aromas of cheese rind, white asparagus and chalky minerality, and the wines are equally good opened immediately or in 25 years. This is a producer that you need to know.
