This new white mixed box has two of our greatest Chardonnays, paired with one of our most interesting Portuguese white blends.
Vadio Branco 2018: Vadio Branco is a blend of 40% Bical, aged for 10 months in used French oak, and 60% Cercial, aged in stainless steel tanks. It comes in at 12.5% alcohol. Fresh and clean, this handles its wood rather well—just when you think it is going to show wood, bursts of acidity overtake it. This has fine tension on the finish and that crisp, lively feel. Yet this isn't just a summer white, as refreshing as it is. It should hold nicely for several years and continue to evolve with cellaring.
Marc Morey Chassagne-Montrachet 2017: The Morey family is one of the most important in Chassagne-Montrachet and this village offering is a beautiful example of what you get with amazing vineyards, conscientious farming and top vinification. This wine is bright and racy, with incredible energy and tension.
Arnot-Roberts Chardonnay Trout Gulch: The 2018 Chardonnay Trout Gulch is loaded with personality and class. Citrus, dried flowers, mint and sage are some of the many nuances that grace this Chardonnay from the southern reaches of the Santa Cruz Mountains. In 2018, the Trout Gulch has more overt body and less of the sizzling cut it has had in some previous editions, which means it will drink nicely with just another year or two in bottle.
